Event Date
01 May 10:00am
Register By Date
28 April
Event Region
STONE FIELDS, AIRPORT
Event Description
A 3-hour level walk to visit these heritage sites. Some of you may have
already cycled there with Libby. This is an opportunity for the walkers to
enhance their local knowledge by visiting the controversial housing
development site at Ihumatao. The local iwi has erected interesting artifacts
for the public to view during their historic protest.
We will also visit the Ihumatao Museum recently shown on Choice TV under
Heritage Rescue, then onto the Avocado orchard and the display notices and
sites of the Otuataua stone fields.
