Event Description

Tiger Moth – It’s chocks away, as “old classics” dogfight ‘modern hits’ with this ensemble of intrepid jazz warriors. Louis Armstrong meets deharmonised Stevie Wonder, featuring a collaboration of Otautahi/ Christchurch’s stratospheric instrumentalists and Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland’s heavenly musicians. From beautiful balladic flybys to death-defying dixie, this gig is not to be missed. The sextet is led by Gwyn Reynolds on tenor saxophone and features the swooping vocals of Kate Taylor alongside pianist Tom Rainey, trombonist Scott Taitoko, bassist Richie Pickard and drummer Adam Tobeck.
